Ballet Opéra de Guerra presents ¿Te Vas?, a multidisciplinary production produced by RDT's Link Series and supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Utah Division of Arts and Museums. ¿Te vas? will be presented at the Leona Wagner Black Box Theatre from November 7-9, 2024.

This performance integrates dance, opera, poetry, music, and theater to critically examine the phenomenon of domestic violence and its ramifications within the Salt Lake community. Drawing on Myriam Moscona's poem "Negro Marfil" and Vivaldi’s Violin and Cello concertos, "¿Te Vas?" investigates the spectrum of empathy and apathy through three iterations of a couple—John I, II, III and Raina I, II, III—highlighting varying emotional responses and domestic politics.

The production’s in-the-round staging enhances the audience’s engagement with the narrative. Complementing the live performance, a documentary will provide an in-depth analysis of the creative process, including the contributions of domestic violence survivors to the choreography and music. It will reflect on the broader implications for partnerships with organizations addressing violence against women.
