Support ¿Te vas?
Artists Against Violence Initiative
Dear Donor,
I want to share a story that has stayed with me. After one of our performances last year, a young woman approached me, tears in her eyes. She spoke about how the themes we explored resonated with her own painful experiences of domestic violence. In that moment, I truly understood the power of art to heal and connect us. It’s this kind of impact that drives our upcoming project, ¿Te vas?
This production isn’t just another show; it’s a heartfelt exploration of a critical issue in our community. ¿Te vas? blends dance, opera, poetry, music, and theater, creating a space where we can confront the realities of domestic violence together. Our aim is to foster empathy and open up a dialogue around the struggles many face, often in silence.
The need for this conversation has never been more urgent. Domestic violence affects so many lives, and too often, survivors feel isolated. Through ¿Te vas?, we hope to not only share these stories but also provide resources and support through free workshops and discussions that accompany our performances.
We’re thrilled to have support from organizations like the RDT Link Series, Z.A.P (Zoo Arts and Parks), Salt Lake City Arts Council, Salt Lake Acting Company, and the National Endowment for the Arts, which speaks to the importance of this work. However, we still need your help. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to make this production a reality. If each of our supporters contributes just $25, we can bring this vital project to life.
Your donation will directly impact our ability to pay our talented artists fairly, cover production costs, and create meaningful community engagement opportunities. It’s not just about putting on a show; it’s about creating change and offering hope to those who need it most.
If you feel moved to support us, you can visit our crowdfunding campaign at this link, or write a check to "The Field" and email rebekah@balletoperadeguerra.com for the mailing address.
We need your support now as we prepare for our performances from November 7-9, 2024. Every bit helps, and every moment counts.
Your contribution will not only make ¿Te vas? possible but will also help spark ongoing conversations about domestic violence, paving the way for future projects that advocate for social justice through the arts.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a real difference. Together, we can create a powerful experience that resonates far beyond the stage.
Peace and blessings,
Rebekah JoAnn Guerra
